Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access and Belonging

Belonging as a concept is a principal component of the successful implementation of transformation around ideas of diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations. This is at the center of our commitment to positive change.  It is not enough to just include people, as that may not deliver sustainable enterprise change. Rather, creating an environment in which people’s differences, cultural perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences matter and are valued, is the beginning of making people feel more than just included at the table -- it makes them feel welcomed!

 

Creating a sense of belonging can end the “revolving door” departure syndrome of talented individuals brought into organizations just to create a diverse enterprise.  We focus on creating an environment for success, in which new ideas, different thoughts, and innovative approaches are sought after from individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences.  Our view is that this is the path toward real growth and sustainable transformation.  Through defined processes, Mason & Rice focuses on the creation of a sense of belonging in an organization as a way to make everybody’s contributions count, so that a pipeline of diverse leaders begins to emerge. The emphasis on belonging creates a place for real inclusion that fosters respect, an embracing of shared goals, and the ability to deliver on the promise of growth, healthy expansion, and employee engagement. Our goal is to help create the type of enterprise that attracts people of diverse experiences, who then wish to stay with the organization as a place to grow and succeed.
