Valerie and Emily have been leaders, business colleagues and friends for more than 30 years. Starting on the same day in the same training class at Xerox, their careers had parallel paths for many years. Valerie and Emily dialogued throughout those years about their respective commitment to the concept of belonging. Additionally, they have long shared the conviction that coaching, guidance, networking, organizational excellence, and the development of individual teams leads to greater collaboration and success. The forming of this partnership is the culmination of many hours of thoughtful conversation, planning, research and training. Dr. Valerie Mason Cunningham
Dr. Valerie Mason Cunningham is a distinguished business leader with over three decades of experience in strategy, sales, and operations at Xerox Corporation. As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Mason & Rice LLC, she excels in driving change and creating significant business value. Her extensive background in operations, sales, communication, marketing, strategy, and business development has made her a trusted advisor to C-level executives worldwide. Valerie’s career at Xerox includes progressive leadership roles, such as Senior Vice President Healthcare, Vice President and General Manager Production Systems Group, Vice President Corporate Marketing Services and Business Intelligence, Vice President US Strategic Office of Business Transformation, Vice President Sales Operations and Business Excellence in Emerging Markets, and Vice President Channel Marketing North America Operations. Her leadership is marked by her ability to build consensus, deliver business outcomes, and manage multi-million-dollar P&Ls with large teams. A strategic visionary and expert in communications, Valerie actively mentors and coaches high-performance teams and individuals. She is a TEDx speaker and serves on the Mercy University board of trustees and the “Friends” of URI-Urban Resource Institute. Previously, she was Board Chair at Volunteer New York! and a mentor at HER Honor Mentoring.
Emily Rice Reynolds
Emily Rice Reynolds is an experienced business leader with years of success in guiding organizations to success. Emily’s roles have included president of a technology company, Canon Business Solutions Central; SVP of Global Account Strategy, Xerox; head of Corporate Communications, Canon; VP of national technical service, Canon; and more. In addition, Emily has served on the Boards of Yellowstone National Park, Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, Japan American Society, and Parker Playhouse (Chair). Today Emily is the President Elect and current Board member of The International Women’s Forum Chicago. In every leadership role, Emily has created an inspiring and vibrant work culture in which employees believe they can “arrive and thrive.” Through clear communication of goals, crisp implementation of key business practices, creation of a predictable and defined management process, and recognition of success in visible and rewarding ways, Emily has enhanced the critical success factors of each organization. Along with her business partner, Valerie Mason Cunningham, Emily brings these same skills, diligence, and proven principles to each Mason & Rice client engagement.
